With the World’s electronic music fraternity descending on Amsterdam mid October for the annual Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), Defected present a finely timed fourth volume of their Deep Down & Defected compilation series. This fourth instalment pays homage to the recent re-emergence and popularity of the deep house sound that has not only gone on to dominate underground dance floors but crossover to mainstream chart success. A compilation capturing the very essence of the deeper movement and embodies what deep house has come to represent; a darker journey through the urban sprawl of back rooms, basements and warehouses that have become so synonymous with the sound. This fourth edition features the hottest new tracks and remixes around, unmixed and DJ friendly, alongside three bonus mixes from Defected founder and champion of the deep house sound; Simon Dunmore. Fusing elements of Chicago house, Detroit techno and UK deep house, Deep Down & Defected Volume 4 evokes the darker emotions, effortlessly cool attitude and sense of restraint that is so indicative of the deep house demeanour.
